Arriving in November
Notes from Becky Wasserman Co.:
"Originally planted in 1964 but over-grafted to Chardonnay in 2004.
Northwestern corner of the Clos, limestone and clay soils with pebbles of oolitic limestone.
Grapes pressed directly, slow ambient yeast fermentation in stainless steel tanks. Aged for 12 months on fine lees in used barrels. Bottled in January. SO2 additions before fermentation and before bottling.
Inside Burgundy:
In order to stop the white Maréchale becoming too fleshy, most of the wine is transferred to tank after the malolactic fermentation, with just 15% remaining in wood. There is no new wood for the white wine. Vibrant pale lemon with a green tint. Quite a crystalline bouquet, rather startling, with a much riper fruit to follow before tightening up at the finish. Drink from 2028-2032. Tasted Nov 2025 by Jasper Morris
