Patrick Dougherty is a Portland native and former chef with over 15 years of experience in the restaurant industry. With an eagernees to remain in the world of food, a chance encounter with the 2020 Best Cheesemonger in the country sparked a newfound passion for cheese—offering a fresh challenge after years of kitchen burnout. That curiosity led him to Amsterdam, where he spent 3 years working as a Cheesemonger and fully embracing his identity as a proud “Curd Nerd.” Now back in Portland, Patrick brings his deep knowledge and enthusiasm to his role as a Cheesemonger at Cowbell, where he continues to share his love of cheese with the community.

Patrick has prepared the following cheeses for us to learn about while we taste:

Valençay (goat) - France

Marbres des Alpes (cow) - Switzerland

Ossau-Irraty (sheep) - Basque Country

Langres (cow) - France

Cironé (cow) - Switzerland

Stompetoren (cow) - Netherlands

These carefully curated cheeses allow us to play with their unique textures and flavor profiles. We will be pairing each cheese with wines across all styles that best compliment their profile.

• Each of the 6 wines sampled will be available to purchase with a special discount valid at the event only.
• Our doors will be closed to the public for this ticketed event which takes place on Tuesday, November 10th @ 5:30pm.
• Please provide us with the name used to purchase ticket(s) on the night of the event, there is no need to print anything out.
