Operating from a historic 18th-century cellar in Verduno, Fratelli Alessandria is a multi-generational estate that has been a defining pillar of Piedmontese winemaking since 1830. While primarily celebrated for their traditional Barolos, the family dedicates a tiny 0.3-hectare footprint to Favorita, a rare native white grape that is produced in minuscule quantities across the region. This crisp, expressive white is carefully sourced from 35-year-old vines split between two distinct plots in Verduno: the east-facing Boscatto and west-facing Sotto Orti vineyards. Cultivated through organic farming practices, the resulting wine beautifully captures the unique limestone-rich marl soils of their historic terroir.
