Tenuta di Carleone is a highly regarded biodynamic estate located in the historic heart of Radda in Chianti, Tuscany. Established in 2012 by Austrian entrepreneur Karl Egger and visionary winemaker Sean O’Callaghan, the winery was built on a property with agricultural roots dating back to the year 1078. Spanning roughly 100 hectares of wooded hills, streams, and olive groves, the estate dedicates about 30 hectares specifically to high-altitude Sangiovese vineyards. The winery is celebrated for its strictly non-interventionist approach, utilizing extended skin maceration and avoiding oak to produce remarkably fresh, vibrant, and pure expressions of the grape.

Il Guercio is 100% Sangiovese sourced from a single, high-altitude vineyard reaching up to 700 meters above sea level. This cuvée undergoes an incredibly long maceration of several months in cement tanks without any oak influence. The result is a brilliantly fresh and pure profile bursting with wild red berries, floral aromatics, and a signature mineral tension that mirrors the energy of its high-elevation terroir.
