Te Pā Family Vineyards, owned by Haysley MacDonald, traces its Māori ancestry on Marlborough's Wairau Bar back over 800 years. The vineyards for the Oke Sauvignon Blanc draw from both the family's home estate on the Wairau Bar and the Redwood Hills vineyard in the cooler Awatere Valley. The distinct terroir of the Wairau Bar features a diversity of soil types, ranging from fertile alluvial deposits and loam to sandy and silty soils, all promoting healthy drainage. This rich history and connection to the land are evident in their sustainable farming practices and the complexity of their award-winning wines.
