The Piemonte wine region represents the pinnacle of Italian viticulture, boasting 19 DOCGs and 41 DOCs, the highest number of top-tier classifications in the country. While globally revered for its profound, long-lived Nebbiolo from Barolo and Barbaresco, the region offers remarkable stylistic diversity, producing everything from juicy Dolcetto to crisp, mineral-driven white Gavi. In addition, there is a wealth of rare, highly localized specialties like Ruchè, Timorasso, Freisa, Grignolino, and Pelaverga to name a few. With such a broad range of offerings, there is a lot to explore here, so let's pull some corks!
If you've ever been to a trade tasting, you know that there is much to learn from these events as they provide an opportunity to compare, contrast, and sample a lot of wine in a short amount of time. So that's exactly what we're going to do with this Piemonte Wine Tour Tasting.
The format is simple: come in anytime between 5:30-8pm grab a glass and taste. Our staff will be pouring at each of the 4 tasting stations, which will represent a specific geographic location in Piemonte. We will begin the evening with a brief, educational 15 minute introduction to Piemontese wine at 5:30pm, so early attendance is strongly encouraged.
We will be covering all styles of wine relevant to each region, so you can expect to sample: Whites, Reds and Aperitif/Dessert wines. There will be at least 20 different wines for you to taste!
- This is not a seated event, it is a walk around tasting event with very limited seating.
- All of the wines featured will be available to purchase at a discounted rate.
- No need to print out any tickets, just provide us with the name used to purchase the ticket on the night of the event.
We hope you can join us for what promises to be an epic night at Flor Wines!
