Weingut Stein, managed by the radical winemaker Dr. Ulrich “Ulli” Stein, is an artisanal Mosel estate dedicated to preserving the region's historic, steep-slope viticulture. Operating out of the village of Alf, Stein rejects corporate industrialization in favor of grueling, manual terrace farming to champion indigenous traditions and biodiversity. The estate is widely celebrated for producing electrifying, low-intervention wines that display intense structural transparency and unyielding mineral tension. For this specific dry bottling, fruit is meticulously hand-harvested from the blue slate terraces of the Alfer Hölle vineyard, combining approximately 80% Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder) with 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
