Founded in 2015 as a family experimentation cellar in the Kakheti region of Georgia, Rosha Winery creates natural wines that honor 8,000 years of traditional winemaking. For their "Timothée" amber wine, chief winemaker Tengo meticulously blends two indigenous Georgian grape varieties: 70% Rkatsiteli and 30% Mtsvane. The Rkatsiteli grapes are sourced from a resilient single vineyard in Kvareli, home to old vines planted more than 50 years ago. To craft a lighter, more refreshing style of amber wine, the grapes undergo a shorter skin maceration time inside traditional, buried clay qvevris before being bottled with native yeasts and minimal intervention. This deliberate process results in a delicate, beautifully balanced expression that showcases the true terroir of the Alazani valley foothills.
