The Rodica Family Winery, located in the village of Truške in Slovenian Istria, is a pioneer of organic viticulture managed by Marinko Rodica and his sons. Their 60,000 vines are planted on south-facing, sun-drenched limestone terraces sitting 250 to 300 meters above sea level, just 5 kilometers from the Adriatic Sea. Committed to working in harmony with nature, the family practices strict organic farming on un-irrigated soils to produce low-yield, deeply concentrated grapes. In the cellar, the winemaking process relies on spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, minimal sulfur addition, and extended skin contact for their macerated whites. The resulting wines are bottled unfiltered, beautifully capturing the raw salinity, minerality, and Mediterranean character of their coastal terroir.
