A transplant to the Langhe from Germany, Philine has worked alongside some of the top producers in Barolo. She makes just tiny amounts of Nebbiolo currently, though a Barolo from the Preda vineyard  Philine trained as a viticulturist and has worked in both Austria and the Alto Adige before finding her way to Barolo. Her wines are classic, elegant and traditional.

" Drawn from the Castagni vineyard in La Morra, where Philine Isabelle has farmed 20- to 25-year-old vines since 2019, the 2023 Langhe Nebbiolo is a beautiful expression of the vintage. After the severe drought of 2022, timely rainfall and cooler conditions in 2023 delivered wines of remarkable aromatic intensity, and this bottle bursts with blood orange, crushed flowers and bright red berry fruit. There is wonderful vivacity here, with crunchy fruit, mouthwatering acidity and a transparent quality that allows the vineyard character to shine through. Hints of raspberry, cherry and white pepper carry through to a refreshing finish. This is exceptional Langhe Nebbiolo, with an energy and precision that elevate it well beyond the category.
