Minerality

This Cortese features a crisp palate of lime citrus, white peach, and a light "amaro" peach-pit finish. Its hearty mineral focus and precision are derived from the estate's dense calcareous clay soils, which are interspersed with iron-rich red clay veins. These unique soils in the Tassarolo area contribute to the wine's characteristic energy, clean mineral drive, and distinctive floral aromatics.

About the producer:

"Winemaker Diego Carrera farms fifteen hectares of Cortese vines in the heart of Gavi. He was working in IT when the urge to move back to his family estate was too strong and began winemaking. The Winery was founded by Diego’s dad Matteo and his uncle Domenico in 1990 with the hope of starting a small project to make wine for family and friends. This didn’t last long as the demand for the amazing cuvees grew, and so did the estate.

Molinetto Winery is an oenologic jewel in Gavi area, with 8 hectares of vineyard planted with the Cortese grape. Situated in Francavilla Bisio and Tassarolo, where the Piedmontese hills meet the sea breeze, Molinetto Carrea bases its production in the prestigious Gavi DOCG. This fragrant white wine is soft, fruity, and elegant, and is made from 100% Cortese grapes. Molinetto Winery is part of the prestigious Consorzio Tutela del Gavi and is member of FIVI - Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti."
