Lomas de Llahuén is the heartfelt project of Gustavo Riffo, a third-generation winemaker dedicated to preserving the viticultural heritage of Chile’s Itata Valley. After gaining experience at larger estates, Riffo returned to his family’s land in Portezuelo to champion the traditional "Pipeño" style, focusing on low-intervention techniques and native yeast fermentations. His work emphasizes the cultural importance of the region, transforming local varieties into vibrant, honest wines that reflect the soul of the rural countryside. The fruit for this specific wine is sourced from 70-year-old, dry-farmed Moscatel de Alejandría vines. These ancestral vineyards sit 300 meters above sea level and are rooted in ancient granitic clay loam soils that impart a distinct mineral clarity to the final bottle.
