Liska Wine Co. was founded in 2021 by the husband-and-wife team of Chris Butler and Draga Zheleva, who met while studying viticulture and enology in France. Based in Oregon's Willamette Valley, the winery intentionally steps away from the region's ubiquitous Pinot Noir to focus exclusively on rare, Alpine-inspired fringe varieties. For their highly unique Mondeuse, Liska sources fruit entirely from Johan Vineyard, a site nestled within the cool-climate Van Duzer Corridor AVA. This vineyard's winds and maritime influences allow the ancient, slow-ripening French grape to maintain its bright acidity, savory complexity, high-toned fruit and distinctive peppery character.
