Producer notes from Matilde Poggi:
“My wines have a relevant footprint resulting from particular climatic conditions of Lake Garda. I started making wine in 1984, my focus were local grapes like Corvina, Rondinella and Garganega. I make wine with my own grapes, the result comes from all the experiments I’ve done during these years. Bardolino comes from a blend of different grapes that I balanced to the perfect ratio of my vineyards: the most part is Corvina (80%) and Rondinella for the rest, with no other grape added. This the best return from my land.
The winery produces under the organic wine certification since 2009”.
About the cuvee:
A blend of 70/30 Corvina and Rondinella, which are vinified separately and macerated gently via pumpovers and delestage. After malolactic fermentation is complete, the wines are blended and aged in stainless steel until spring.
Flor Impressions:
A perfect light summer red, Le Fraghe's Bardolino bursts with delicious strawberry fruit aromas and flavors, with delicate accents of sweet fennel pollen and sage. Gentle, delicate tannins, a round mid palate and thirst-quenching acidity all make this a perfect candidate for drinking straight out of the fridge.
