Established in 1990 by former stonemason Mark Angeli, La Ferme de la Sansonnière is a pioneering estate in the Loire Valley renowned for its steadfast commitment to biodynamic farming. Now joined by his son Martial, Angeli famously withdrew from the AOC system to produce uncompromisingly pure "Vin de France" expressions that prioritize environmental health over rigid appellation rules. The estate's low-intervention philosophy extends from the vineyard to the cellar, where they utilize natural volcanic sulfur and neutral aging vessels to showcase the raw potential of their fruit. These wines are sourced from approximately 7.7 hectares of schist, clay, and sand-based parcels across Anjou, Coteaux-du-Layon, and Bonnezeaux, including the celebrated monopole site Les Fouchardes and the ancient vines of Les Blanderies.
