Johan Vineyards is a Demeter-certified biodynamic estate and winery located in Oregon's Van Duzer Corridor AVA, founded in 2005 and now owned by Katherine “Mini” Banks. The 175-acre property operates as a self-sustaining ecosystem where livestock like sheep and chickens help manage the land, and over 30 acres are preserved for natural biodiversity. In the cellar, winemaker Morgan Beck follows a low-intervention philosophy, using only native yeast and avoiding chemical manipulations to ensure each bottle is a pure reflection of its site and vintage. While known for elegant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the winery is also celebrated for its esoteric varieties, including Savagnin, Blaufränkisch, and Ribolla Gialla.
