The Loire Valley region nearly encompasses all of France. With this much square mileage, there exists a variety of soil types, vineyard orientations, and native grapes. It's an incredibly rewarding region to explore, and one that is quite difficult to tackle as a wine class. Rather than focus on one aspect of the Loire, we've decided to supersize our class and invite you to explore with us.
If you've ever been to a trade tasting, you know that there is much to learn from these events as they provide an opportunity to compare, contrast, and sample a lot of wine in a short amount of time. So that's exactly what we're going to do with this Loire Valley Wine Tour Tasting.
You will be able to choose between 2 time slots for this ticketed tasting on Thursday, March 12th. Simply select which slot you'd like to atted, either 4-6pm or 6-8pm.
The format is simple: come in during your selected time slot, grab a glass and taste. Our staff will be pouring at each of the 4 tasting stations, which will represent a specific geographic location in the Loire. Each time slot will begin with a brief, educational 15 minute introduction to the Loire Valley, so early attendance is strongly encouraged.
From West to East, each station will pour wine from:
Lower Loire: A maritime region called Pays Nantais.
Middle Loire: The vineyards in Anjou, Saumur, and Touraine.
Centre Loire: The Centre-Loire vineyards, famed for its Sauvignon Blanc
Upper Loire: Containing Auvergne and surrounding vineyards.
We will be covering all styles of wine relevant to each region, so you can expect to sample: Sparkling, White, Rosé, Red and Dessert wines. There will be at least 20 different wines for you to taste!
- This is not a seated event, it is a walk around tasting event with very limited seating.
- All of the wines featured will be available to purchase at a discounted rate.
- No need to print out any tickets, just provide us with the name used to purchase the ticket on the night of the event.
We hope you can join us for what promises to be an epic night at Flor Wines!
