Weingut Daniel Jaunegg is a family-owned winery located in the secluded Eichberg micro-region of Southern Styria, Austria. Daniel and Jasmin Jaunegg practice certified organic and transitioning biodynamic farming, with a hands-on approach to crafting high-quality wines with minimal intervention. Their philosophy emphasizes allowing the cool, forested microclimate and unique soils to define the character of their wines. The vines for their Weissburgunder bottling, which contributes to the "Sand & Gravel" series, were planted between 1993 and 2003 on amphitheater-shaped hillsides of mixed gravel and sandstone soils. This dedication to small-scale, detail-oriented viticulture and patient cellar work results in complex, terroir-expressive wines.
