This 4 pack takes our other Thanksgiving Sipper Pack to the next level with a less is more approach. Great wines for the Thanksgiving Day meal and great seasonal fall wines for drinking all November, but turned up to 11. These wines are all stunners and will knock it out of the park on Turkey Day, or any time you pop one. Why not treat your guests (and yourself) to some wine that is just a little more special.
Our 4 pack includes:
NV Champagne Guiborat, 'Prohibition' Extra Brut - Champagne, France
Impressions: 'Prohibition' is sourced from Pinot Meunier vines in Mardeuil, near Epernay and balances complexity along with approachability. Lovely notes of white plum, underripe strawberries and croissants lead to a nervy and energetic juicy palate that forms an elegant mousse. Finishes chalky and bone dry with a touch of nutty and floral notes. This one goes way beyond minimum Champagne standards as it's aged nearly 3 times longer than required for a non-vintage declared wine.
2024 Terenzuola, Cinque Terre - Liguria, Italy
Impressions: Cinque Terre is a picturesque region influenced by its rugged, mountainous terrain and proximity to the Ligurian Sea. Exceptional producers like Terenzuola are able to capture this unique terroir in bottle. A touch of tropical fruits intertwine with stone fruits, almond blossoms, dried thyme and saline. A lean, mineral-rich texture greets the palate before a rush of acidity carries the wine towards a dry, floral and salty finish. Lovely weight and tension, this wine is both interesting and delicious, a combo that we adore.
2023 Sacred Shore, 'Threemile Vineyard' Mencía - Columbia Gorge, Oregon
Impressions: We couldn't resist tweaking with the classics, so we are including this Gamay-adjacent Mencía. Mencía is the main red grape in Galicia, Spain and in true winemaker fashion, they caved to their adventureous side and planted some vines here in Oregon. Needless to say we are enamored with the results. Bursting with aromas of red berries, rose petal, and savory spices that translate to an energetic, juicy and silky palate. A light tannic touch leads to a fruity, spicy and slightly peppery finish for endless food pairing options.
2021 Domaine La Bouissiere, 'La Font de Tonin' Gigondas - Southern Rhône, France
Impressions: This is La Bouissiere's top wine sourced from older vines that represent the highest elevation site of the entire Gigondas appellation. This is Southern Rhône at its finest with brooding notes of cherry liqueur, blackberries, garrigue, pink peppercorns, and a touch of baking spices enticing from the glass. A concentrated lush, yet silky texture is easily carried by a lively acidity towards a smooth, velvety tannic touch. The finish is peppery, smoky, and spicy, complex yet cohesive. A lovely full-bodied wine to cozy up with.
