This edition of our sipper is dual purpose. First as the name states, these are wines to work with the classic Thanksgiving meal, which really is a pretty easy meal to pair with – roasted poultry, stuffing, potatoes, perhaps Brussels sprouts or green beans – with all of its richer savory flavors. In Flor fashion we have selected a bunch of wines that will pair well, but also are some new discoveries to keep things interesting. Fun and interesting for those at your table that care, and, well, just darn tasty for everyone else! The second use of this packs is great drinking for all of November.

2022 Oriol Rossell, Brut Nature Cava - Catalonia, Spain
Impressions: With nearly 2 years aging in bottle this delightful sparkler opens with aromas of green apple, citrus, and white flowers, with underlying notes of yeast and toasted almonds. On the palate, it is fresh, dry, and balanced, with bright acidity and a fine mousse that carries flavors of green apple, lime, and a subtle minerality to a clean, persistent finish.

2021 Belle Pente, Willamette Valley Chardonnay - Oregon, United States Impressions: With extended aging in both barrel and bottle, this is is no ordinary Willamette Valley cuvee. It opens with a complex bouquet of lemon curd, ripe peaches, and honeysuckle, complemented by a palate of rich stone fruit and bright Meyer lemon. Its creamy texture is beautifully balanced by an energetic acidity and a powerful, mineral-driven finish, making it both lush and refreshing.

2023 Castelo do Papa, Godello - Galicia, Spain
Impressions: Sourced from high-elevation granite and slate terraces, this Godello offers vibrant citrus and orchard fruit flavors of lemon and pear, complemented by a persistent, nervous acidity. It reflects a distinct, linear minerality and descends towards a long finish with suggestions of bitter lemon pith.

2023 Clos d'Audhuy, 'Queue De Pressoir' Vin de France - Southwest, France
Impressions: This blend highlights the indigenous Segalin grape that produces a light-bodied and refreshing Gamay-like experience. You're instantly seduced by aromas and flavors of wild strawberries, red currants, and a hint of earthy spice. The wine's low tannins and bright acidity make it exceptionally easy-drinking "glou glou" which is best enjoyed with a slight chill.

2024 Bernabeleva, Camino de Navaherreros Tinto - Madrid, Spain
Impressions: Sourced from older vines, this wine bursts with aromas of wild strawberries, tart cherries, and delicate rose petals with hints of thyme and rosemary. Medium-bodied, juicy, and fresh, with electric acidity, fine, grippy tannins, and a persistent, stony minerality. This elegant Garnacha-based wine is a refreshing, easy-drinking expression of the high-altitude Gredos region, often compared to a refined Pinot Noir.

2022 La Scala, Ciro Classico Superiore - Calabria, Italy
Impressions: La Scala is family owned winery with a long history in the region, and a reputation for championing indegenous varieties like this 100% Gaglioppo. This vintage displays highly aromatic notes of red cherry, pomegranate and wild herbs, A medium-bodied profile is easily swayed by a thriving acidity that sways its juicy texture towards dry, chalky tannins. A hint of saline and a touch of smoky, floral undertones provide additional complexity on the finish.
