Founded in 1893 by Jean Baptist Becker, Weingut J.B. Becker is a historic estate located in the small town of Walluf within Germany's Rheingau region. Today, third-generation winemaker Hans-Josef "HaJo" Becker and his sister Maria run the 13-hectare property with an unyielding commitment to organic farming and traditional, low-intervention practices. This specific village-level wine is sourced entirely from their organic vineyards in Walluf, primarily anchored by their crown jewel holding, the Walkenberg. The Walkenberg vineyard features narrow, high-canopy vine rows that provide deep shade and utilize extensive underground water reserves, shielding the grapes from excessive heat. By utilizing native yeast fermentations and extensive aging in traditional Rheingau oak barrels, the estate transforms this unique terroir into razor-sharp, bone-dry Rieslings built to age for decades.
