Weingut Hirsch is one of the most respected, family-owned estates in Austria's Kamptal region, celebrated for its absolute focus on crafting site-specific Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. Under the guidance of Johannes Hirsch, the winery has become a pioneer in sustainable viticulture as a founding member of the respekt-BIODYN association, farming all 31 hectares under strict biodynamic practices since 2006. The estate is highly acclaimed for capturing regional vitality by utilizing wild yeast fermentations and minimal intervention in the cellar. For this specific wine, the fruit is sourced from the steep, terraced vineyards surrounding the historic village of Zöbing, which sits directly at the foot of the legendary Heiligenstein mountain. These vines thrive in ancient Urgestein (primary rock) bedrock soils, allowing the grapes to develop the piercing stone-fruit purity and distinct, flinty minerality that defines the vintage.
