Gota Wines is an innovative Portuguese estate founded in 2008 by winemaker Natalia Jessa with a mission to showcase the authentic, unvarnished character of native grape varieties. Bergamota opens with expressive aromas of bergamot, fresh cherry, and eucalyptus, leading to a medium-bodied palate of cocoa bean and almond flavors. This elegant complexity stems directly from an exceptional, sustainable single plot of 100- to 120-year-old centenary vines rooted in the poor schist soils of the Douro Superior. Balanced by a lively acidity, its structure is framed by incredibly fine, satin-like tannins that honor its ancient vineyard heritage.
