Founded in 1986 by Russ Raney, Evesham Wood is a legacy Oregon winery known for its certified organic, dry-farmed practices in the Eola-Amity Hills. The 2008 vintage is celebrated as a "perfect" Oregon year, characterized by a long, cool growing season that produced wines with exceptional acidity and transparency. Specifically, the La Grive Bleue bottling is sourced from the northernmost block of the estate Le Puits Sec vineyard, a site distinguished by its shallow volcanic basalt soils. While the rest of the estate relies on Pommard clones, this parcel is dedicated to Dijon clones 114 and 115, resulting in a vibrant and detailed Pinot Noir that remains a favorite among connoisseurs.
