Weingut Hermann Dönnhoff is a celebrated, family-owned winery in the Nahe region of Germany, founded over 250 years ago. Under the direction of Helmut Dönnhoff and his son Cornelius, the estate has achieved international recognition for its precise, terroir-driven Rieslings. Their philosophy centers on natural yeasts, traditional vinification, and organic farming to express the unique character of their vineyard sites.
The Oberhäuser Brücke is a 1.1-hectare monopole vineyard, making it one of the Nahe's smallest protected sites. Its distinctive microclimate, moderated by the adjacent Nahe river, promotes early flowering and a long growing season for the Riesling grapes. The complex soil, a mix of gray slate bedrock, loess, and loam, provides excellent water retention and imparts the wine's elegant structure and intense minerality.
