This fascinating cuvée is sourced from an exceptional plot on mostly schist soils close to the Layon river. It’s an area where most dessert style Chenin Blanc is made due to the botrytis that can easily affect the grapes. This wine, of course, is dry with little to no residual sugar. Aromas of spiced pear, dried apricots, chamomile and gardenias leap from the glass. Deeply tense, with the acidity pushing and pulling the rich mineral texture before finishing on a salty, spicy and slightly nutty note. Deceptively full bodied and incredibly versatile for endless food pairing possibilities.

The father and son team of Vincent and Emmanuel Ogereau farm the domaine in an organically manner, avoiding all use of chemical herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers. Their viticultural practices include horse plowing, de-budding, crop thinning and leaf pulling. Vincent and Emmanuel make a large spectrum of wines, including red, white, and rosé, as well as a Crémant, but focus chiefly on Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc.
