Importer notes from Becky Wasserman & Co.:
"Amélie Berthaut received an impressive array of vineyards from her mother and father who owned and managed separate family domaines. Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet includes all the vineyards of Domaine Denis Berthaut and parts of the vineyards of Domaine François Gerbet, totaling 16 hectares located in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, in the villages of Fixin, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Vougeot, and Vosne-Romanée."
This wine is from vines planted in 1935, 1949, and 1955a ans is a blend of Aux Réas and Au-Dessus de la Rivière, clay-limestone soils."
Jasper Morris:
"No whole bunches, a question of tank space. Two plots in Réas and one in Rivière, the former responsible for 17 barrels out of the 20. Quite a pale colour with a lacy nose of some delicacy. A lovely strawberry/raspberry fruit with a useful crunch to finish."
