Importer notes from Becky Wasserman & Co.:
"Amélie Berthaut received an impressive array of vineyards from her mother and father who owned and managed separate family domaines. Domaine Berthaut-Gerbet includes all the vineyards of Domaine Denis Berthaut and parts of the vineyards of Domaine François Gerbet, totaling 16 hectares located in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, in the villages of Fixin, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Vougeot, and Vosne-Romanée."
Southeastern Fixin, lower on slope, alluvial soils: stony, well-draining, with some chalky rocks. Vines planted in 1946, 1960, 1988, 2002"
Jasper Morris:
"Les Crais has deep soil but with plenty of stones. Mixed vine age, 40% stems. First picked. Redcurrants and raspberries here, a little peppery infusion, some sucrosity to the fruit, perfumed deep cherries all the way through, just enough structure with no hard edges."
