Tasted at Flor 10/13/23:

"Showing its age in the best ways, this wine is far from over the hill. From the moment we pulled the cork, it showed rambunctious raspberry and blackberry fruits in the foreground, which gradually gave way to savory elements of pea tendrils, cinnamon, wet leaves, and garrigue. With time, nutmeg and allspice unfold, showing a balanced touch of oak in the winemaking process, which at this point is nicely integrated with the still ample primary fruits. A delightful, ageworthy surprise from the Languedoc." - Gaston

Notes on producer/cuvee from Kermit Lynch:

43% Syrah, 18.5% Mourvèdre, 17.5% Grenache Noir, 21% Carignan, grown on gravel, sandstone and limestone. Grape varieties are vinified separately and wine is blended after fermentation. Wine is aged for 12 months in barrel and demi-muid. Wine is unfined and unfiltered
