Since we named last month's Sipper Pack - April Showers - you guessed it...this month we present the May Flowers Sipper Pack. We spend a lot of time in our backyards this time of year and we assembled our pack with this in mind. From crisp, mineral whites and sparkling rosés for warm days, to reds that go with the first grill marks of the season or more rainy days, there is something here for whatever May throws our way.
Our 6 pack includes:
2024 Famille Fabre, 'L'instant Bulle' Brut Nature Pet Nat - Languedoc-Roussillon, France Impressions: A blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Colombard this refreshing sparkler delivers a mouth-watering mix of green apple, citrus zest, and tropical passion fruit notes. The finish is crisp and bone-dry, characterized by fine bubbles and a clean, thirst-quenching minerality.
2024 Denthis, 'Too Lost' Moschofilero - Peloponnese, Greece Impressions: The Peloponnese terroir, characterized by its mountainous terrain and cool Mediterranean climate, preserves Moschofilero's signature high acidity and delicate aromatic clarity. On the palate, this low-intervention white offers a hazy, youthful profile with vibrant notes of lemon flowers, rose petals, and green apple, finishing with a crisp, slightly salty minerality.
2024 Alessandro Tofanari, 'Sassa' Vernaccia Di San Gimignano - Tuscany, Italy Impressions: This 100% Vernaccia is a total beach day in a glass, bursting with zesty lemon, crisp pear, and a floral pop of jasmine. Thanks to vines grown in soil full of ancient seashells, every sip finishes with a salty, savory kick and that classic "bitter almond" wink. It’s a bright, bone-dry refresher that doesn't take itself too seriously but definitely brings the Tuscan sunshine.
2025 Bodegas Ostatu, Rosado - Rioja Alavesa, Spain Impressions: This pink delight from Rioja Alavesa is a zesty blend of 70% Tempranillo, 27% Garnacha, and a splash of 3% Viura. It’s a total fruit basket on the nose, bursting with wild strawberries, raspberries, and a fun twist of orange peel and fennel. Thanks to its high-altitude "mountain wine" roots, it finishes crisp and mineral-driven—basically a fresh breeze in a bottle that’s ready for your next paella night.
2022 Damoli, 'Volavia' Valpolicella Classico - Veneto, Italy Impressions: A classic blend of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella, 'Volavia' leads with bright aromas of fresh cherries, wild strawberries, and delicate floral notes like rose petals and violet. On the palate, it is light-bodied and exceptionally juicy, offering crisp red fruit flavors with fine-grained tannins and a clean, refreshing finish. It’s designed for high drinkability, staying true to its name which suggests the wine "flies away" from the glass.
2022 Pago del Cielo, 'Celeste' Ribera del Duero Crianza - Castilla y Leon, Spain Impressions: This Tempranillo is a stellar high-altitude red, where the cool nights keep things fresh and lively. It’s a plush, "star-filled" bottle packed with blackberry jam, ripe cherries, and a cozy hint of roasted coffee and cocoa from a year spent in oak. Velvety and smooth with just enough grip, it’s basically a warm hug in a glass that’s perfect for backyard barbecue, steak night or just stargazing.
