About the producer:
Chateau de Roquefort is at an altitude of 1000 feet, allowing later harvesting, which results in more freshness and greater phenolic maturity, and therefore more complexity than is usual in Provencal wines. Raimond de Villeneuve came back to his old family property in 1995; his first vintage under the Chateau name was in 1998 - previously the wines were sold in bulk. An open-minded winemaker and taster, Raimond strived for quality and always experimented.
Flor Impressions:
"Petit Sale" (little salty) is the local name given to the Clairette grape and this wine is as advertised. Delicate and enticing aromas of honeydew melon, white flowers, seashells and flint evolve from the glass. The Palate displays a vibrant acidity that introduces a juicy/silky texture that reveals its mineral-driven backbone. The finish is crisp, salty and refreshing with citrus notes and a whisper of floral notes that invite you for a second sip.
