Cantina del Pino is a benchmark producer in Barbaresco with a lineage that predates the appellation's modern identity. Although the family had grown grapes for generations and was instrumental in founding the local cooperative, it was late winemaker Renato Vacca who established the family label in 1997 to focus on estate-bottled, terroir-driven wines. Today, his wife Franca continues this legacy of traditional, non-interventionist winemaking, emphasizing the unique character of their historic holdings. The fruit for this specific wine is sourced from the Ovello Cru, one of Barbaresco's most iconic and highest-altitude sites, characterized by a cool microclimate and limestone-rich soils that impart exceptional structure and elegance.
