Impressions: Overshadowed by Pinot Noir and even Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc has a long history of being the Willamettes's underdog. Cameron's however, is truly one to be commemorated. Notes of fresh pears, quince, lemon verbena, and jasmine sit above herbal tones of marjoram. On the palate bracing acidity is met with a silky lift leading to a savory, mineral, and lengthy finish. Try it as an aperitif or with a spring salad.
Cameron is a family run winery started in 1984 by John Paul who has long been a staple in the Willamette Valley. The estate has a small production each year with only 3-4 thousand cases produced, making their wines a treat to be able to get. After some stints in California, Oregon, and New Zealand before working as an assistant winemaker at Carneros Creek Winery in Napa, John moved up to Oregon to start Cameron with his wife Teri Wadsworth, and partners from Abbey Ridge Winery, Bill and Julia Wayne along with Marc Dochez, and Shawna Archibald.
