Biondi-Santi is the legendary founding estate of the region, celebrated for crafting the very first Brunello di Montalcino in 1888 and setting the benchmark for the wine's incredible longevity. The estate’s wines are produced exclusively from their proprietary BBS11 clone of Sangiovese Grosso, which is meticulously hand-harvested from high-altitude, historic vineyards rich in rocky galestro and marl. For their signature bottlings, grapes are sourced from the iconic Tenuta Greppo estate in the southeast, alongside the nearby Ribusuoli and Pievecchia parcels. Across the wider Brunello region, the 2019 vintage is celebrated as a modern masterpiece, defined by an ideal, stress-free growing season without extreme heat spikes or water shortages. This perfect weather yielded flawless, highly aromatic grapes that produced deeply harmonious wines famed for their radiant, "crunchy" fruit character, vibrant acidity, and magnificent cellar potential.

Winemaking
Fermentation takes place using indigenous yeasts in traditional concrete and stainless steel vats with gentle, controlled extraction to preserve the purity and high acidity of the Sangiovese fruit. The wine is then aged exclusively in large, neutral Slavonian oak casks for twelve months to three years, avoiding small new wood to protect its delicate floral aromatics and long-term aging potential.
