Founded in 2007 by Morgan Twain-Peterson MW, Bedrock Wine Co. is dedicated to preserving California’s viticultural history by rehabilitating old-vine "heritage" vineyards through regenerative and sustainable farming. The fruit for this specific wine is sourced from the historic Nervo Ranch, a site originally planted in 1896 by the Nervo family on extreme, 45-degree slopes just south of Geyserville in the Alexander Valley. This vineyard is one of the most distinctive in the portfolio due to its rare field blend composition, which features not only Zinfandel but a significant percentage of Negrette (formerly known as Pinot St. George) and Petite Sirah.

The resulting wine is celebrated for its unique structural intensity and savory profile, reflecting the "grand cru" status of this century-old site.
