Altre Vie is an innovative Piedmontese project founded by highly acclaimed winemakers Gian Luca Colombo and Federico Scarzello. Inspired by the French négoce tradition, the duo partners with exceptional local growers to source high-quality fruit from meticulously scouted parcels across the Langhe hills.

For their flagship Barolo, they intentionally select organically and biodynamically farmed Nebbiolo grapes from four hectares of prime, small plots spread throughout the historic subzones of Verduno, Roddi, and Barolo. By masterfully blending the distinct terroirs of these three legendary villages, they revive a traditional, multi-vineyard style that emphasizes softer tannins and vibrant aromatics over singular, aggressive power. The resulting micro-production reflects Colombo’s minimal-intervention winemaking philosophy, creating a deeply expressive Barolo that remains approachable in its youth
