Agathe Bursin produced her first vintage in 2000, and within a few years had developed such a strong following that her wines became difficult to find. Though she founded her own winery, she has deep winemaking roots in Alsace, with her great-grandfather the last to produce wines under the family name before his death in 1939. She was nonetheless raised in a wine-centric household, being encouraged to smell and taste food and wines criticall from a young age. 

Her 2022 Dirstelberg Riesling, from the single vineyard Lieu-Dit Dirstelberg, is an excellent introduction to her style. With aromas of lemon blossom and jasmine that leap from the glass, as well as bright, juicy flavors of meyer lemon and apricot, this is classic Alsatian Riesling. Relatively full bodied, bone dry with a spicy edge, it's quaffable by itself and also a happy companion with rich, full-flavored meals.
