Weingut Karl Schnabel is located in Sudsteirmark, also known as Southern Styria. The family estate is run by Karl, his wife Eva and their three sons, and has been farmed organically since its inception. Winemaking is strictly natural, with no additions of sulfur or other additives in the winemaking process. The Schnabels are respected as a benchmark producer of Blaufrankisch in their region.
About the cuvee:
"KOR" is made from a the Schnabels' estate vineyard, "Koregg." It is fermented in open top fermenters without the use of pumpovers during primary fermentation. It is aged in oak, and bottled in small batches by hand. Winemaking is strictly natural, with no use of sulfur dioxide or additives of any kind throughout the process.
