Villa Calcinaia is a historic estate in the heart of Chianti Classico, owned by the Capponi family since 1524. For centuries, the family has cultivated vineyards in the hills near Greve-in-Chianti, where the terroir of clay and calcareous soils is ideal for producing elegant Sangiovese wines. Today, the vineyards are managed by the 37th-generation Count Sebastiano Capponi, who has overseen organic farming since 1992 to ensure the wines authentically express the land. Grapes are hand-harvested from the estate's 75 acres of vineyards, ensuring quality control from vine to bottle.
