Weingut Taubenschuss is a 5th generation family winery in Poysdorf, Austria, that has been producing wine since 1670 and has been organically certified since the 2023 vintage. For the Early Bird Gemischter Satz, they use early-picked grapes from various sites around Poysdorf. The 2023 blend for this wine consists of 80% Grüner Veltliner, 10% Muller-Thurgau, and 10% Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown on deep, loamy loess soils. The winery avoids chemical fertilizers, instead using their own compost and sheep to maintain the health of their vineyards, and all grapes are harvested by hand.
