Notes from Strade Bianchi:
"Silvio Morando, the "Grignolino Wizard" harils from the north side of Vignale Monferrato. Grignolino reigns supreme here, playing seond fiddle to no other wines. This is a translucent, light red, but with 'grigna,' the tannins that make this wine so unique."

Winemaking
Short maceration and gentle pressing. Grignolino grapes have a high number of seeds which can make very tannic wines with lots of green notes if not handled delicately. The wine ages for 9 months in a combination of stainless steel and cement before it goes to bottle. The wines receive a small dose of SO2 at bottling and are bottle unfined and unfiltered.
