Established in 2021, Schregel is a new winery in the Rheingau region, but owner Alexander Schregel is an experienced winemaker with a "Back to the Roots" philosophy emphasizing minimal intervention. The Rüdesheimer Riesling Trocken is sourced from top sites in Rüdesheim, including Bischofsberg and Berg Roseneck, with biodynamic methods used to cultivate a vibrant, healthy vineyard. The winemaking process is equally gentle, with spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts and long aging on the lees to fully develop the Riesling's character. The result is a wine that is a pure and transparent expression of its terroir, highlighting the region's slate and quartzite soils. This approach has quickly made Schregel a "Rheingau Discovery of the Year" and a rising star in the German wine world.
