Founded in 1958 by a village priest and 19 struggling growers, Produttori del Barbaresco has evolved into one of the world's most respected wine cooperatives. Today, the organization comprises over 50 member families who collectively manage about 110 hectares of prime Nebbiolo vineyards, representing nearly one-sixth of the entire Barbaresco appellation. The winery is celebrated for its singular focus on the Nebbiolo grape, employing traditional methods like long maceration and aging in large oak botti to produce wines of exceptional transparency and terroir. In top vintages, they famously release nine distinct single-vineyard Riservas, including the powerful Montefico, which are widely considered benchmarks for quality and value in the Langhe.
