Jonathan's Pick
Bastian Wolber’s "Blanc sur Schistes" Alsace Riesling combines a stony, mineral tension typical of wines from metamorphic rock, against bright acid. The result is a spring-like floral lift featuring vibrant aromatic notes like lime or green apple, characteristic of this vintage known for a warmer growing season but stable temperatures thanks to their higher elevation Bernardvillé plots at more than 400 meters.

Grapes picked by a team in Baden and transported to Volnay in a refrigerated truck, vinified and aged without added SO2, chilled overnight, crushed, pressed with a basket press for 2-3 hours, decanted (with the lees kept separately for future use if needed), ambient yeast fermentation and aging for 18-24 months in used 228 and 600L barrels, racked and blended in tank for 2 weeks, no fining, no filtration, SO2 only added before bottling (approx. 10-20 ppm).
