Bodegas Ostatu is a family-owned estate in Rioja Alavesa with a viticultural legacy dating back over 250 years, currently managed by the Sáenz de Samaniego family. Based in the village of Samaniego, the winery balances traditional Basque hospitality—reflected in its name, which means "inn"—with a modern commitment to organic and sustainable farming. Their winemaking philosophy focuses on capturing the unique energy of "mountain wine" through minimal intervention and the use of indigenous yeasts.
This rosado is typically a blend of 70% Tempranillo, 27% Garnacha, and 3% Viura. The grapes are sourced from some of the estate's oldest and highest-elevation vineyards, specifically the La Paul, Carrera, and Los Caños plots, which sit between 600 and 650 meters on poor, stony calcareous clay and limestone soils.
