About The Producer:

At the gates of the Cathar Country, 30 km from Perpignan, Mas Amiel, a historic wine estate, leader of the Maury appellation in Roussillon, was founded in 1815. The 130 plots of the 150 ha of Mas Amiel present an incredible diversity of terroirs, distinctive schist soils that produce great dry wines and a conservatory of indigenous grape varieties
(Carignan, Grenache, Lladoner pelut, etc.) Certified Organic and Biodynamic (biodyvin) Mas Amiel defends daily ethics by its teams.

Flor Impressions:

Grenache Gris and Blanc are largely overshadowed by the red versions, but we find it to be incredibly underrated when in the proper hands. This is a fine example of what it can achieve as it boasts calming aromas of honeydew melon, membrillo paste, gardenias, and almonds alsng with an equally compelling texture. The palate displays a rich minerality that is then cut by its palpable acidity before becoming too full-bodied. In fact it’s quite lean with a dry, savory finish with a touch of spice present an incredible diversity of terroirs, distinctive schist soils that produce great dry wines and a conservatory of indigenous grape varieties (Carignan, Grenache, Lladoner pelut, etc.) Certified Organic and Biodynamic (biodyvin) Mas Amiel defends daily ethics by its teams.
