Vernatsch/Schiava is one of Italy’s lightest and most quaffable red wines. If you’re a fan of juicy wines like Beaujolais, this one is for you. Highly aromatic notes of red cherries, strawberries, hibiscus, nasturtium and green peppercorns. A fresh acidity greets the palate and introduces its juicy, lean and slightly silky texture. The finish is fruity with some floral tones and a touch of dried herbs.
About The Producer: The Prackwieser family has owned the Gump Hof for more than 200 years. The building itself, however, goes as far back as 1546. Markus discovered his passion for wine in the mid-90s and took over the family heirloom from his father in the year 2000. The Gump Hof stands out for its open and experimental approach to wine and is also characterized by the exchange of best practice among other wine-grower friends from the Wachau valley, Burgundy, and the Loire Valley.
