Gilles Bonnefoy established Les Vins de la Madone in 1997, later transitioning his estate in the Côtes du Forez to certified organic and biodynamic viticulture to honor its unique volcanic terroir.

The Migmatite is a vibrant, soul-stirring expression of Gamay grown on the volcanic slopes of the Massif Central. Crafted by biodynamic pioneer Gilles Bonnefoy, 'Migmatite' refers to the complex soil—a mix of granite and clay rich in mica—that imparts a distinct, smoky minerality to the wine. On the palate, it balances high-altitude freshness with a deep, succulent core of dark red fruits like sour cherry and redcurrant, underscored by savory notes of cracked black pepper and violet. It is a light-to-medium-bodied wine that feels both rustic and refined, offering a crunchy acidity and a saline finish that makes it an incredibly versatile companion for anything from charcuterie to spiced earthy dishes.

Winemaking
Whole cluster fermentation on native yeasts found on the grape skins, without the use of commercial additives or chaptalization (adding sugar). Semi-carbonic fermentation style, similar to traditional Cru Beaujolais, which preserves vibrant fruit aromatics. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks (cuve inox) to maintain a pure, "cool" mineral edge without any oak influence.
