Weingut Leipold is a family-owned estate in Obervolkach, Franken, spearheaded by young winemaker Peter Leipold who is widely regarded as a rising genius for his ultra-precise, mineral-driven wines. Backed by 12 generations of local viticultural tradition, Peter and his father Paul meticulously tend to a boutique 7-hectare footprint with a strict focus on sustainable, soil-centric farming. The estate is celebrated for separating its entry-level Silvaners by soil type to showcase how Franken’s diverse terroirs influence the grape. For the 'Keuper' bottling, they source fruit specifically from the Obervolkacher Landsknecht vineyard. This unique site features triassic clay-marl soils that naturally give the Silvaner its characteristically juicy fruit profile, subtle savory grip, and rounder texture compared to their sharp limestone-derived wines.
