If enjoying aged Nebbiolo wine is your goal, Alto Piemonte can be viewed as taking the fast lane to get there. While Nebbiolo's signature chalky tannins are expressed here, they take a lot less time in bottle to soften than their Barolo or Barbaresco counterparts. One of our favorite appellations from this area is tiny Boca, summed up brilliantly by a single producer - Le Piane.
Le Piane's story is one of the more dramatic in the wine world. In the late 1980s, the Boca region was nearly forgotten, its vineyards reduced to a tiny fraction of their former size due to industrialization and depopulation. Swiss importer Christoph Künzli and enologist Alexander Trolf discovered the region and met Antonio Cerri, one of the last remaining local winemakers. They convinced Cerri to sell them his vineyards and cellar, promising to honor traditional winemaking methods and save the unique corner of the wine world from extinction.
Join us on Thursday, November 20th @ 6:30pm as we welcome Jordan Fredrickson from importer Delicious Wines. Jordan will guide us through a selection of 6 wines, including the incredibly rare "Plinius" reserve and "Antonio Cerri - Boca" bottling produced in only exceptional vintages.
- Each single ticket price will be waived with a purchase of at least 2 bottles of the evening's wines on the night of the event.
- Our doors will be closed to the public for this ticketed event which takes place on Thursday, November 20th @ 6:30pm.
We hope you can join us for another memorable tasting at Flor, which also serves as a great opportunity to taste and add a stellar bottle to your holidays.
